I haven't taken a long walk in 5 days and I ate a burger for lunch just a couple days ago. I’m still 50lbs overweight and my back is tight as hell. I am drinking less, so baby steps? One thing I have been sticking to is making more of an effort to read. I used to read all the time as a kid, couldn’t get enough, but as an adult I may have read 2 books last year if you don’t count comics. So this year, more books and more comics! Thank goodness for the library across the street. At the start of the year I polished off Dirtbag, Massachusetts, by Isaac Fitzgerald. A great memoir that’s written in a style I enjoy and the way Isaac talks about bars, and bar culture, really resonated with my own inner barfly. I highly recommend it.
On this week’s Illustrious Gentlemen Podcast I chatted with illustrator, comic artist, and graphic designer, Ryan Liebe. We talked about comics, Liebe's history through comics, mentorship, the money making reality of comics' and so much more.
Last month the Justice League Versus The Legion of Super-Heroes trade that I colored was released and if you’re a fan of Impossible Jones then the next book in that series that I colored should be hitting your doorstep in the next couple months. Finally, I’m currently drawing the last chapter of Death Comes for The Toymaker, a mythological adventure book that is supposed to be out through Scout Comics later this year. After this month my schedule opens up and I’m excited at new opportunities, while petrified because I have nothing lined up yet. Here’s hoping for the best! And here’s a bit from this week’s work.
